Tabs on the job.

For the most part, I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of a mom. I love hanging out with my kids, I love adventure and nature, and I believe in a good education (body/mind and soul). Our days are spent living a life that weaves in and out of these themes.

I have a few set goals as a parent regarding what I want my children to be accomplished at by the time they graduate high school: being kind to all beings (especially one’s self), good manners, a good high school grade average, accomplished at one other language other than English, accomplished at playing a musical instrument, an introduction to meditation skills, life guard certification ( we live on a huge lake) and then just basic skills in all the everyday sports. Other than that, I am fairy easy going and like my kids to direct their own interests.

My daughter Tabs took it upon herself to become a soccer ref to earn extra money and leadership skills. Reffing soccer is her first ‘paycheque’ job and I am very proud of my girl on and off the field. She has a tremendous work ethic and thrives on self motivation. It’s always a thrill to sit back and watch your child take over the reins in running her life; training for daughter (for when she is ready to leave the nest) and training for mother (to trust in her girl’s independent abilities).
